MISSION
CaroYacu is a foreign nonprofit (ESAL) in Colombia and a 501(c)(3) organization in the United States. Since 2012, we have supported the future guardians of the Amazon rainforest with educational tools and scholarships for higher education, fostering the preservation of their ancestral knowledge.
VISION
We envision an Amazon where new generations of Indigenous youth become leaders in their communities and guardians of their territory, preserving their culture and ancestral wisdom for the well-being of the region and the planet.

Since 2012, Caro Villegas has been dedicated to delivering school kits to communities in the Amazon Basin.
This year, 2025, CAROYACU extended its work to indigenous communities in remote areas, supporting students from preschool through higher education. We improved the conditions of boarding schools with new dormitory supplies, strengthened education and health through kits, workshops, and books; and promoted environmental awareness by planting trees and responsibly managing solid waste in schools.
